fracking money

So yeah, I was late with a payment. After a few years of being on-time, and paying down debt, and basically cleaning up my act, I was late. This, after about three weeks ago falling out of the habit of using the finance software I was dutifully following. I don't know how that happened, but I just kinda stopped entering expenses and stopped checking the 'scheduled payments' area. I'm so damned forgetful sometimes. And figures this would happen right as I'm actually seriously looking at home purchasing. *great* timing.

On the plus side, this finally motivated me to give that particular company the info they needed to just yank the money out of my account directly. One less bill for me to forget in the future. Now I just need to figure out if my car payment company can do that also. Would configure my rent that way too, but I don't trust that company one bit. Oh, and direct-deposit might be nice. The less I have to touch money the fewer chances for me to screw it up. I'm surprisingly incompetent with my finances, seems sometimes only way I mange to avoid trouble is the long checklist of what to pay every month.
