I suppose it makes some sense -- he does control the weather, after all.

at least it'd be a better reason than "because it's how I was raised."

Hey, random question: where's a good place to go cycling in Sacramento? It needs to be transit-able, with shady areas.

Or am I wrong in remembering that you ride a bike?

not wrong in remembering, I still ride.

What kind of a ride are you interested in? do you want nice residential streets or do you want a bike path with no cars? Also, about how far do you want to ride (miles)?

I'm not looking to spend an entire day on my bike, but maybe half of one with time for stopping around.

I want some area of Sacramento that I should see (I never really got around much, we never had a car and I was always in school/working) that isn't going to make me feel vulnerable to traffic all the time. So residential is good, so long as the streets are wide enough or there are bike lanes - but I want it to be interesting to look at. Nature is good, but I want it to be paved.

I shall contemplate this and try to come up with something for you. There are some areas of Sac that are quite nice, and certain streets that are pleasant to ride on, but they are not necessarily linked to one another so I will have to come up with an easy ride connecting them.

Also, you may wish to consider posting this same question in the sunday_drivers community. It is mostly composed of beginner riders who enjoy social rides. You may like them.
