I'm sitting here putting together the new server we ordered parts for (file storage, eventually it'll be 4TB), and I'm routing cables through the case and making sure to watch for airflow and also keep them reasonably accessible and well-ordered.. and I notice I made a mistake.. I've got the cables for drives 1-8 plugged into slots 8-16 on the controller card. DOH! now I gotta un-plug them all, re-trace them, and re-plug them all in.
it's little shit like this, stuff that is so fscking simple there's no excuse to screw it up, when I get it wrong it's a prime indicator that it's time for me to leave work and go home for the day. :)
