Yes, everyone has the right to sit on their ass and not do a single damn thing about the world around them, but this approach to wrongdoings about you does not promote a cessation of those wrongdoings.

The act of not voting doesn't necessarily entail a complete absence of action. One need to vote to perform other acts to change the world around them. you're setting up a straw-man falacy.

You know damn well I have no qualms with those who do actively attempt to impact the political landscape of their country. I have yet to meet someone, however, who writes letters to representatives, donates to political organizations, educates those around him/her about the issues, and yet chooses not to vote. And if I did meet that person, I would truly want to know their reasoning for this behavior as it seems quite out of place with the other activities. But even if I didn't agree with the reason, I wouldn't fault the person (much) for it as s/he is still taking part.
My issue is with those who see something wrong with the system and don't make any effort to attempt to fix it, yet still feel somehow wronged by it's problems.
