So, a lot of the new faculty are getting laptops. That's keen. It helps them get their work done out of the office, and it keeps them happy. Two very important things. problem is: It lets me take my work home with me.

This is both good and bad.

The good part is that, unlike last night, I won't have to stay at work till 23:00 tonight! The bad part is that I'm currently babysitting a laptop that is imaging. Scratch that, now Win is rebooted and I get to do post-image config joys. Tedius, boring work. But at least I will get to go to bed early tonight! :)

if only it would. I've allready spent some nights vpn'd in to work and tweaking some servers from remote that way.. This wasn't the first time I've taken work home with me, and it certainly won't be the last.

Thankfully, I do honestly enjoy my work.

I love my work laptop! It's *SO* much more powerful than my crappy-ass home PC, and therefore is much better to play games wi- err I mean work from home with.. yeah...

heh.. yeah, there is that aspect.

Of course, with me the laptop I'm borrowing from work *is* my home PC, so the only other thing to compare it to would be this old slide-rule I have -- or perhaps the abacus in storage? :) heheh..

Knowing you, I bet you could *EASILY* find hours of enjoyment with an abacus that would at least be on par with some of the more advanced PC games of today.

Abacuses (abacus'?) (abaci?) (any quantical number times an abacus..) should not be in storage. They should be on your desk at work, and you should regularly be seen adding things up (correctly) on them. Sliderules don't work well for this, since few people these days even know what one is, and they tend to think that you are simply wasting time playing with a fancy scale or something.
