oh please

someone please wake me up and just say this has all been a terrible dream.

When will the powers that be get their heads out of their collective asses and learn some VERY BASIC security protocols? If you want to catch someone who is breaking the law, you can't use procedures that rely on them following the law! All you are going to do is inconvienance those of us who are not going to do anything in the first place.

This new system of fingerprinting and photographing foriegn visitors to the US is just stupid for a number of reasons. Firstly, it has too many loopholes. They could either come from a country that is exempt, or enter through a passage not participating yet. It's not *that* difficult to plan a flight to/from a specific airport. Secondly, it only compares the fingerprint/photograph to *known* risky folk. Just because someone's been convited for rape doesn't mean he's going to set off a dirty bomb in town square! Moreover, if the terrorists *did* have plans to do some big nasty thing, do you really think they'd use people who have a criminal record?? I could go on, but I'll stop here for now.

I really wish the people elected by this country (I'm proud to say I haven't voted for a winner yet) would *THINK* for once. They just keep making worse and worse decisions. When I went to Paris and Munich a few years back, I tried to avoid saying I was a US citizen simply because I would get some upset looks. Now, if I go traveling, I'll likely have to fear being accosted for being a US citizen.
