I don't know if it's a good thing or not, but the last few ('bout 50 or so) pictures I've taken have all been Manual Focus. I'm finding that more and more I am dissatisfied with the Autofocus mechanism. Either it takes too long to aquire a target, or it chooses the wrong focusing zone, or it can't focus at all in low light, or whatever.

Here is a picture I took last night at the Light Rail station after I was done with my walk. Sorry for the fuzzyness, it was a 1.3 second long exposure and I didn't have my tripod with me (IS is my friend). A little girl came over to watch me taking pictures of it and she remarked to me, totally out of the blue, "That leaf looks sad".

That leaf looks sad. Words of wisdom. It's too bad her teachers will undoubtedly force into her mind the concept that "a leaf can't be sad, a leaf doesn't have feelings".

this is

post #300... just thought I'd share this phenominally unimpressive fact.

On the otherhand, I recently left my 1000th comment just a short while ago.. that's something, I guess...
