So, after all my hunting to find an email client for linux that supports leave on server for x days, I am now discovering that Sylpheed doesn't do it right!

ARGH!

it has the option, but it doesn't actually do it! damn. might as well go with a client that offers better filter rules, then, 'cause the filters in Sylpheed suck ass.

Can you use a webmail system?

Why is that? If you are unhappy with the email clients you have tried so far, why not find a good wenmail client in PHP (which you can manipulate yourself) and install a web server onto your computer so you can use it?

BARF

why are you even using a pop email client? I've been learnin' mutt... it's my new favorite, right behind Mailsmith and Eudora Light 3.1 for Macintosh.

Apparently, I am a total moron.

I think I must have meant to say "web-based client" or something, because that post I wrote doesn't make any sense.

Dude, what little I've seen of Squirrelmail, I know that I'd rather build my own system. I could probably make a good pop/imap web client that is hacker friendly.

But I have no interest in doing so at this time.

you just answered your own question. it requires installing a web server onto the computer.

Now, if it winds up that I can find a whole suite of programs to use that all go through the webserver, then I might consider installing one. Till then I'd rather not deal with it.

Actually, I hadn't answered my own question. If I had said "All you need to do is install a webserver, which by reading your mind I know you are opposed to", then I would have.
